Nasturtium Pesto

Ingredients

1. Favorite nuts like pistachios, walnuts, pine 

1 cup

3. Garlic

1/2 cup

5. Olive Oil

5 of them

2. Seeds like pumpkin

3-4

4. Nasturtium Leaves

4-5

6. Parmesan

Ayurvedic Information

Growing freely on hillsides here in New Zealand, all parts of nasturtiums can be used in salads and pestos like this one. A peppery taste indicates their usage in folk medicines for the lungs. They are high in vitamin C and are said to have anti-viral and anti-biotic properties. They can be used in lieu of basil in pestos. An excellent plant for reducing kapha dosha. 

 

Method of Preparation

Toast all nuts and seeds

Add all ingredients into the blender and blend.

optionally salt to taste.
