Retreat Catering

Ayurveda-inspired cuisine

Do you want your retreat participants to feel nourished and inspired? Anyone can put on a retreat with professional catering, but when home style, seasonal, fresh meals are prepared with love, the meals take a different shape and become family style occasions.

Our
Story

Anjali-Profile-2.jpg

Hi, I am Anjali. I am an Ayurvedic Practitioner who loves to nourish people through food. I believe that food can be medicine for the body and mind. I cook primarily vegetarian meals with a few meat and fish options if required, using the wisdom of Ayurveda, simple to digest combinations and fresh, gently seasoned, ingredients. I love creating menus designed to inspire participants toward self care and home cooking. Intimate groups of 8 - 15 people are my favorite size, where I can tweak meals to meet individual needs where needed, while catering for the group.

Additional Ayurvedic services

Often retreat leaders are bolstered and supported by including one of my optional Ayurvedic Nutrition or cooking workshops into the program. These can provide an educational, sensory, or bonding experience for participants while offering the retreat leader a small break. Ask about my list of current workshops such as Introduction to Ayurveda & The Six Tastes, Food Combining for Optimal Digestion, etc. I can also design and tailor talks to the focus of your group.

Amber Karnes, Founder of Body Positive Yoga

Anjali makes delicious food that is flavorful, healthy, and simple. She brings an attentiveness and care to the work that is a rare gift. I have hosted over a dozen wellness and yoga retreats, and usually I don't find a caterer who cares about the participants as much as I do. Recently, I had the pleasure of having Anjali as the cook for a retreat that I hosted. She was creative in the kitchen, responsive to people's preferences and needs, and fed us so well. She also has a wealth of knowledge about Ayurvedic cooking and south Asian cuisine which she is generous in sharing. As a retreat host, it's an amazing feeling to be able to totally trust that the food is taken care of, and that my guests will feel safe and nourished. I highly recommend Anjali's services and look forward to working with her again.

Erin Desabla, Founder of Pathways Mountain Retreat

I have many years of hotel event management experience and enjoyed countless professionally catered meals, and I can say without hesitation that the feedback we receive each time Anjali cooks for our retreats has been very positive! People say that they can taste the love in her food and for that reason retreat leaders request her cooking. Her homestyle meals and attention to individuals is perfect for our space and "the home away from home" feeling that we provide at Pathways Mountain Retreat Center. Personally I have enjoyed every meal she has ever made for us and I frequently bring containers to take it back to my family, who all love it too.

Inspirational Ayurvedic Recipes to Try

Nourishment doesn't always come naturally, especially if you were not raised with much of it. For me, it has been a self paced journey. Between learning nutrition from an Ayurvedic perspective to researching family food as a project in college to countless hours of scouring the internet for vegetarian recipes that I love, I'll never stop appreciating the resources that have been freely shared with me to help me move from "clueless in the kitchen" to "the stovetop is my playground". I love to help you move through the hurdles too, to also embrace nourishing yourself and your family the way that we used to before we bought into the idea that time is money and food comes in a package. I can help you cook on any budget and enjoy the alchemy of cooking. Here are just a few inspirations that were born in my kitchen. If you would like support in this area, try a 1:1 Ayurvedic Diet and Lifestyle Consultation.

I'm always playing in the kitchen; you can find more recipes @cookforbalance on Instagram. I also cook for yoga & Ayurveda retreats. Are you a retreat leader who needs the support?
